भिलाई इस्पात संयंत्र में सुरक्षा जागरूकता सप्ताह का भव्य समापन: ‘जीरो हार्म’ कार्यसंस्कृति पर जोर

भिलाई । सेल-भिलाई इस्पात संयंत्र के कोक ओवन एवं कोल केमिकल विभाग (सीओ-सीसीडी) द्वारा आयोजित सात दिवसीय ‘सुरक्षा जागरूकता सप्ताह एवं सुरक्षा प्रदर्शनी-2026’ का 16 मार्च को विभागीय परिसर में गरिमामय समारोह के साथ समापन हुआ। 10 मार्च से शुरू हुए इस विशेष अभियान का मुख्य उद्देश्य कार्यस्थल पर सुरक्षा के प्रति सजगता को सुदृढ़ करना और सुरक्षित कार्य पद्धतियों को दैनिक जीवन का हिस्सा बनाना था। कार्यक्रम की अध्यक्षता मुख्य महाप्रबंधक (सीओ-सीसीडी)  तुलाराम बेहरा तथा मुख्य महाप्रबंधक (सुरक्षा एवं अग्निशमन सेवाएं) देबदत्त सतपथी ने की। इस अवसर पर संयंत्र के वरिष्ठ अधिकारियों, ऑफिसर्स एसोसिएशन और यूनियन प्रतिनिधियों सहित बड़ी संख्या में नियमित एवं संविदा कर्मियों ने अपनी उपस्थिति दर्ज कराई।

समारोह को संबोधित करते हुए मुख्य अतिथियों ने ‘360 डिग्री सुरक्षा दृष्टिकोण’ विकसित करने और ‘नियर मिस’ रिपोर्टिंग की गुणवत्ता सुधारने पर विशेष बल दिया। उन्होंने स्पष्ट किया कि सुरक्षा केवल एक प्रक्रिया नहीं बल्कि एक प्रतिबद्धता है, जिसे अग्रणी सुरक्षा संकेतकों (Leading Safety Indicators) के माध्यम से और अधिक प्रभावी बनाया जा सकता है। सप्ताह भर चले इस आयोजन के दौरान कर्मचारियों की सक्रिय भागीदारी सुनिश्चित करने हेतु चित्रकला, रंगोली, टूल बॉक्स टॉक, सुरक्षा नाटिका, फुल बॉडी हार्नेस प्रतियोगिता और सुरक्षा प्रश्नोत्तरी जैसी विविध गतिविधियाँ आयोजित की गईं। इन प्रतियोगिताओं के माध्यम से व्यावहारिक सुरक्षा ज्ञान को मनोरंजक और शिक्षाप्रद तरीके से प्रस्तुत किया गया।

इस आयोजन का मुख्य आकर्षण ‘सुरक्षा प्रदर्शनी’ रही, जिसमें सामग्री प्रबंधन, वर्किंग एट हाइट, कॉन्फाइंड स्पेस सेफ्टी और गैस सिलेंडरों की सुरक्षित हैंडलिंग जैसे तकनीकी विषयों पर स्टॉल लगाए गए थे। इस प्रदर्शनी का अवलोकन संयंत्र के 500 से अधिक कर्मियों ने किया और सुरक्षा उपकरणों के सही उपयोग की बारीकियों को समझा। कार्यक्रम के समापन पर विभिन्न प्रतियोगिताओं के विजेताओं, प्रशिक्षकों और प्रदर्शनी के समर्पित प्रतिनिधियों को अतिथियों द्वारा सम्मानित किया गया। इस पूरे आयोजन के सफल क्रियान्वयन में बी. सी. मंडल, आशुतोष प्रधान और उनकी पूरी टीम ने महत्वपूर्ण भूमिका निभाई, जिसके लिए प्रबंधन द्वारा उनकी सराहना की गई।

Bhilai Steel Plant Concludes Safety Awareness Week: A Strong Step Towards a ‘Zero-Harm’ Workspace

The Safety Awareness Week and Safety Exhibition-2026, organized by the Coke Oven and Coal Chemical Department (CO-CCD) of SAIL-Bhilai Steel Plant, concluded on March 16 with a grand valedictory ceremony held at the departmental premises. Spanning from March 10 to 16, the week-long initiative was designed to reinforce safety consciousness and promote standardized safe working practices among the workforce. The closing ceremony was presided over by Mr. Tularam Behera, Chief General Manager (CO-CCD), and Mr. Debdatta Satpathy, Chief General Manager (Safety and Fire Services), in the presence of senior officials, representatives from the Officers’ Association and Unions, as well as a large gathering of regular and contractual employees.

During their addresses, CGM (Safety & Fire Services) Mr. Debdatta Satpathy and CGM (CO-CCD) Mr. Tularam Behera emphasized the critical need for adopting proactive safety measures and strengthening the culture of high-quality ‘Near Miss’ reporting. They advocated for a comprehensive ‘360-degree safety approach’ and urged the department to focus on leading safety indicators to further elevate safety performance. The leaders issued a collective call to action, appealing to every employee to remain vigilant and committed to maintaining a secure and accident-free workplace.

The program featured a diverse array of activities aimed at ensuring maximum employee engagement, including competitions in Painting, Rangoli, Tool Box Talk (TBT), Safety Skits, and Full Body Harness wearing. Other highlights included Firefighting demonstrations, Safety Quizzes, ‘Spot the Hazard’ sessions, and debates. A major attraction was the Safety Exhibition, which hosted informative stalls on Material Handling, Working at Height, Confined Space Safety, PPE usage, and Electrical Safety. The exhibition drew over 500 visitors from various plant departments, who lauded the practical insights provided. The event concluded with the felicitation of winners, judges, and stall representatives by the dignitaries, marking the successful culmination of a collaborative effort led by the coordination team of Mr. B.C. Mandal and Mr. Ashutosh Pradhan.
