एसईसीएल में कोल इंडिया अंतर-कंपनी शतरंज प्रतियोगिता 2025–26 का सफल समापन।

• डबल्यूसीएल बना विजेता, एसईसीएल को मिला दूसरा स्थान

बिलासपुर । साउथ ईस्टर्न कोलफील्ड्स लिमिटेड (एसईसीएल) की मेजबानी में आयोजित कोल इंडिया अंतर-कंपनी शतरंज प्रतियोगिता 2025–26 का समापन समारोह दिनांक 14 मार्च 2026 को एसईसीएल वसंत विहार टाउनशिप स्थित वसंत क्लब में संपन्न हुआ। इस अवसर पर मुख्य अतिथि के रूप में एसईसीएल के निदेशक (तकनीकी/संचालन) एन. फ्रैंकलिन जयकुमार उपस्थित रहे।

समापन समारोह में एसईसीएल के निदेशक (मानव संसाधन) बिरंची दास, निदेशक (वित्त) डी. सुनील कुमार, मुख्य सतर्कता अधिकारी हिमांशु जैन तथा निदेशक (तकनीकी – योजना/ परियोजना) रमेश चंद्र महापात्र, विभिन्न श्रमसंघ प्रतिनिधिगण सहित अन्य वरिष्ठ अधिकारीगण उपस्थित रहे।

मुख्य अतिथि एन फ्रैंकलिन जयकुमार ने कहा कि इस प्रकार की प्रतियोगिताएँ केवल प्रतिस्पर्धा का मंच नहीं होतीं, बल्कि विभिन्न अनुषंगी कंपनियों के कर्मचारियों के बीच आपसी सौहार्द, टीम भावना और सहयोग की भावना को भी सुदृढ़ करती हैं। उन्होंने सभी प्रतिभागियों के उत्साह, खेल भावना और समर्पण की सराहना करते हुए कहा कि जीत और हार से अधिक महत्वपूर्ण सहभागिता, सीखने की भावना और निष्पक्ष खेल की भावना है।

इस अवसर पर मुख्य अतिथि एवं अन्य गणमान्य अतिथियों द्वारा विजेता एवं उपविजेता टीमों को सम्मानित किया गया।

प्रतियोगिता में वेस्टर्न कोलफील्ड्स लिमिटेड ने प्रथम स्थान प्राप्त कर विजेता का खिताब जीता। साउथ ईस्टर्न कोलफील्ड्स लिमिटेड द्वितीय स्थान पर रही, जबकि महानदी कोलफील्ड्स लिमिटेड ने तृतीय स्थान प्राप्त किया।

तीन दिनों तक चली इस प्रतियोगिता में कोल इंडिया की सभी आठ अनुषंगी कंपनियों के साथ-साथ सिंगरेनी कोलियरीज कंपनी लिमिटेड के प्रतिभागियों ने उत्साहपूर्वक भाग लिया। प्रतियोगिता के दौरान खिलाड़ियों ने उच्च स्तर के खेल कौशल, एकाग्रता और रणनीतिक क्षमता का उत्कृष्ट प्रदर्शन किया।

WCL Emerges Champion; SECL Finishes Runner-Up

The Coal India Inter-Company Chess Tournament 2025–26, hosted by South Eastern Coalfields Limited (SECL), concluded successfully on 14 March 2026 at the Vasant Club in SECL’s Vasant Vihar Township, Bilaspur.

Shri N. Franklin Jayakumar, Director (Technical/Operations), SECL, attended the closing ceremony as the Chief Guest.
The ceremony was also attended by Shri Biranchi Das, Director (Human Resources), SECL; Shri D. Sunil Kumar,

Director (Finance); Shri Himanshu Jain, Chief Vigilance Officer; Shri Ramesh Chandra Mahapatra, Director (Technical – Planning/Projects); representatives of various trade unions and senior officials of the company.

Addressing the gathering, Shri Jayakumar said that such sporting events not only provide a platform for healthy competition but also strengthen camaraderie, teamwork and mutual understanding among employees of Coal India’s subsidiary companies. He appreciated the enthusiasm, discipline and sportsmanship displayed by the participants and emphasized that participation and the spirit of fair play are as important as winning.

During the ceremony, the Chief Guest and other dignitaries felicitated the winning and runner-up teams.
Western Coalfields Limited (WCL) emerged as the champion of the tournament, while South Eastern Coalfields Limited (SECL) secured the runner-up position. Mahanadi Coalfields Limited (MCL) finished third.

The three-day tournament witnessed enthusiastic participation from teams representing all eight subsidiary companies of Coal India, along with participants from Singareni Collieries Company Limited (SCCL). Players displayed a high level of concentration, strategic thinking and competitive spirit throughout the competition.
